Serious Adverse Drug Interactions That Every Dentist Should Know About with Evidence Based Analgesia and Opioid-Sparing Strategies for the Dental Professional (Act 124)
Six CE credits recommended for dentists, hygienists and assistants (including 2 CE credits to fulfill the Act 124 requirement for dentists who have a DEA registration or use a DEA registration as allowed by law).
The lecture will focus on serious adverse drug interactions that may occur in the dental patient because of drugs the dentist may prescribe or administer as well as, the adverse drug interactions a dentist may experience because of the drugs they take for various medical conditions. Dr. Hersh also will discuss the potential problems of prescribing opioids for dental post-surgical pain and other painful dental conditions; the efficacy of various analgesic agents and the behavior of the "drug seeking patient." The course also will focus on meta-analysis data for various analgesics in both dental pain and other post-surgical pain models.
Presented by Elliot V. Hersh, DMD, MS, PhD, Professor of Pharmacology/Oral Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. The research grants Dr. Hersh receives are paid directly to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Hersh has no relevant financial relationships to disclose.

Cancellation policy: A refund, less a 10% administrative fee, will be issued if the registration is cancelled in writing seven days prior to the program you are attending. Refunds are not issued for no shows.
