Pharmacology Update for the Entire Dental Team and Substance Abuse-Dental Considerations and Patient Care Planning
This lecture offers an overview of the basic principles of pharmacology with special emphasis on drugs administered or prescribed in a dental practice, as well as medications whose actions, effects or interactions with other drugs may impact dental therapy. The lecture also will provide participants with an overview of the most common substances of abuse, along with their potential contraindications to dental therapy and any dosage modifications of commonly used dental drugs.
Presented by: Thomas Viola, RPh, CCP, a clinical educator and published writer in addition to his daily practice of the profession of pharmacy.
