Cyber Security Information Security Basics

Presented by Steve Yurich, MSIS, Corporate Information Security Officer (CISO) for Penn National Insurance. Steve has run cybersecurity programs for government and private entities for more than a dozen years and has been in IT for nearly 20 years. Steve has a Master's degree in Information Systems from Penn State University.

The Information Security Basics training provides some insight into the current threat landscape for cyber risk, as well as the basic fundamental protections organizations can put in place to reduce their cyber risk. The training also provides awareness for the end user and basic strategies for the business.

Online, Self-Study CE Helpful Tips

  • Before you access the course, add the web page https://learn.padental.org/topclass/ as an allowed site under pop-up blockers. For assistance, Google instructions to add an allowed website for the web browser you use to access the internet. Instructions also are available at the bottom of the Continuing Education page on PDA's website.
  • After you address the pop-up blockers, and are ready to start the course, go to www.padental.org/onlinece. Sign in with your username and password. Click Go To Your Learning Center and launch the course.
  • At the Congratulations You Passed screen, close the internet window (tab) that displays the name of the course. Instructions and screen shots are available at the bottom of the Continuing Education page on PDA's website.
  • The certificate will be saved in your Learning Center. To access your Learning Center, go to www.padental.org/onlinece. Sign in with your username and password. Click Go To Your Learning Center. Click the word Completed to see the list of courses you completed. Click View Certificate.

Important registration information:
1. Sign in to the website with your username and password. Contact PDA if you do not have a username and password or need assistance with your username and password. Do NOT create your own record. If you do, you could be charged the wrong registration fee.

2. Click the Register Myself button and pricing will be displayed.

3. If payment is required, enter your credit card information.

4. Click Submit Order to complete your registration. You have 24/7 access to the program for 6-months from the date of registration. Review Helpful Tips provided above before launching the course.
