Do the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regulations require patients and operators to wear lead aprons when an X-ray is taken?

The regulations do not specifically state that dental patients or the operators of dental X-ray equipment must wear lead aprons. However, the use of an apron usually puts the patient more at ease psychologically and is generally recommended practice in the office.
